*’Dilemma’, 2015, is a documentary by Xi Zhang ‘about migration driven by the Fukushima nuclear disaster and overseas families affected by the crisis in the aftermath of 11 March 2011′. During the four years since the three meltdowns at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in March 2011, a dilemma appeared in the lives of three groups of people: those who were living in Fukushima, those who were living in other regions of Japan and those who were living overseas at the time of the disaster. Many families emigrated to the UK from Japan after the tsunami and earthquake of 2011 to escape the Fukushima nuclear crisis. Now the longstanding effects of radioactive contamination make it difficult for them and for families already living overseas to return to their homeland, Japan.’
